Lesson #1 Don’t bite the hand the feeds you.

Lesson #2 Don’t do interviews when you’re high as a rocket.

What happened to this dude? He used to be the shit but now he’s just an idiot.

Are you crazy? Wayne is making a valid point despite his lack of tact. The mixtape game has fucked him over; in my opinion, mixtape dj’s fucked up a good thing by leaking the songs in the first place.

Let’s get this straight. First of all, Wayne is the hottest thing on the streets. You whack ass up North niggas probably are gonna protest that your lame Beanie Siegel’s and Cormegas are but lets be real here.

Second, whether you like Wayne or not, his album is the most anticipated album in hip-hop, even over Jay Z’s shit. So don’t be so quick to hate him cuz he’s shitting on mixtape dj’s who get greedy and leak songs.

There’s a reason why you are covering Wayne’s story and not your own, or even Kay Slay’s……cuz in the big picture, who the hell is Kay Slay? A washed up Beatmaker left in the bowels of hip hop to do mixtapes…..

Oh, and stop sending me these annoying ass emails! NEW ORLEANS, STAND UP! PUT SOME SOUTH IN YA MOUTH!

  4. PR Girl — Thursday May 29, 2008 @ 2:40 pm

I’m not sure what to say about this… Lil Wayne does have the #1 song in rotation on Top 40 Radio right about now… “Lollipop” comes on every station in Chicago like 20 times a day…. maybe it was just a publicity stunt who knows….. the album is due to drop any day now and we all know what controversy can do for album sales…. this is so sad but at the same time I hope Wayne isn’t truly that full of himself or that drugged up that he doesn’t remember that the late Static produced Lollipop and that Jay-Z is featured on Mr. Carter…. he has to know that he’s not the only one on this album!

lil wayne is a weirdo, i useto sip purple in i will tell you personaly it dont make you say the type of dumb shit that he say, an far as that mixtape shit goes how could a country bunker ass nigga like wayne say some out of pocket shit like that ? an for the record weezy is not hot by the standards set in the 90’s he’s luke warm at best, oh almost forgot kanye killed him on lolli pop

  6. East Gang 504 — Thursday May 29, 2008 @ 10:22 pm

I understand what Wayne is saying but I think he could have done it a better way but I see were he coming from. U look on these mixtape sites now and all u see is every dj doing wayne mixtapes and 90% of them are all the same. I respect what he said and I am sure that there are a few other artist out there that feel the same way. AND just to let everybody know KAY SLAY IS MY FAVORITE FUCKIN DJ.

===> To Quote U Homie…1) His Album Maybe Highly Anticipated W/o A Doubt. But To Be So Arrogant & Say Fuck Mixtape DJ’s??? Who Else In History Was Rude Enuff To Open Their Mouth & Say That…Not All Mixtape DJ’s Have Leaked His Music. IN FACT…His Music Would Not Be Leaked If It Wasn’t For The People In His Own Camp. A DJ Secretly Crept Into His Music Lab, Took The Carter 3 Unmastered Album & Released It???! Fuck Outta Here! LMAO!!!

    &

    2) Are U Ignorant To Bring Up A North Versus South Thing Again? Eat A Dick W/ AIDS On The Tip, Homie…That Statement Is Maaaad Fugazee. No One Mentioned The Two Regions. They Don’t Relate To This Article!

Mixtapes Kept His Old Music As Well As His Features, Very Relevant. True Indeed, The DJ’s That Have Made Money Off His New Material Or His Leaked Material…I Can Understand…But What Artist Really Gets Paid From The Mixtape Game Unless They Put The Album Out Theirself W/ The Collaboration Of The Mixtape DJ???!

A Month Or Two Later, Or Even An Article Or Two Later…He’s Gonna Retract His Statement & He Can’t Blame It On Drugs…Cuz I’m Pretty Sure He Felt That Way For The Longest…

  9. DJ Wicked — Friday May 30, 2008 @ 9:27 pm

Greatest rapper alive??? Bwahaha….Sheeeit, more like most ignorant rapper EVER! Fuck that untalented ass-clown. I’d rather listen to Midget Mac.
Lil’ Wayne is an embarrassment to HipHop, to say the very least. It’s bewildering to me that he gets as much recognition as he does, considering the fact that his novice skill level is equivalent to that of a mentally retarded 5th grader. It’s the most blatant case of “the blind leading the blind” that I have ever witnessed. To say that it’s disgusting would be an understatement.
Greatest rapper alive??? You might be able to fool the ignorant masses with that inaccurate slogan, but you ain’t never gonna fuckin’ fool me with that bullshit.

  10. stereotype — Saturday May 31, 2008 @ 4:19 am

@Lawrence4: Yeah Maybe you have some valid points- But do your homework before you hate on real heads.DJ KAY SLAY Used to be an active graffiti writer. And he can out-write you any day.

As far as wayne saying shit about the DJ’s…If it’s true he’s only put out 25 mixtapes, you have got to hand it to him for not saying anything up until now. there must be 500 lil wayne mixtapes out there- that’s approx.475 fake ass tapes. Wayne would sell regardless, but I also predict that his arrogance WILL come back to bite him in the ass.

But, who really cares when you’re a millionaire?

  13. Retail Girl — Saturday May 31, 2008 @ 1:05 pm

Well, drugs will make you do crazy things. It’s like the commercial with the egg…this is your brain…this is brain on drugs…any questions? And I probably shoudn’t say anything that I am about to say but I am going to go ahead b/c I am not contracted to anyone. Mixtapes have brought Wayne to were he is now. No major record label would have ever gave him that much advertising these days. Those budgets are cut wayyyyyy down. They are only worried about digital sales and nothing else. So the MAJORS should pay attention to this scenario and take notes! It took less money to pay the MIXTAPE DJ’s than it would ever taken to pay magazines for ads, radio PD’s for spins, and street teams for “guerilla marketing.” Now if Wayne had done things right, he could have seen money from those mixtapes. Drama made crazy money off the Dedication cd’s and do you think he bothered to share some of that with Wayne???? So did most of the other DJ’s that put them out. Did any of them bother to strike a deal to give him 20-50% of thier profits under the table? And they probably did not because when Wayne and his people GAVE them the music, they didn’t ask for anything but to put the mixtape out to as many people as they could. So boo on both parties. Secondly Wayne booked a crazy amounts of shows off of MIXTAPES! And probably at up to $50K a show. So maybe he should have paid the DJ’s a little more to put out the mixtapes!!!! And thirdly, the radio spins for the singles that were on the mixtapes!!! That was priceless. Either way, DRUGS make things happen. You guys really shouldn’t have expected him to speak about the mixtape situation. It was probably a well thought out plan from Waynes people to keep his name alive (especailly if you think about how many time the Carter 3 date was delayed) and Wayne should not have said what he said b/c it was wrong and unappreciative (sp). But the mixtape DJ’s got what they needed so as much as he can say fuck ‘em you gotta think about this…some of them got PAID from Waynes’ people to make those mixtapes, and then got to prfit form what they sold. So are they really mad???? If I got paid you can say fuck me all you want…I gotcha money plus a little extra on the side! And Wayne’s dumb ass camp paid them to make it!

  15. X.MEGA — Saturday May 31, 2008 @ 10:06 pm

Wayne need to think before he talk. That’s a dj job to leak songz.Keep the songz that you don’t want to be leaked to yourself and give them the songz you want to be leaked simple as that.If he’s really talented he’ll make something better than the songz that got leaked.Dude’s not great as he think he is and I’m from the south.Peace.

  17. DJ TINT — Sunday June 1, 2008 @ 12:08 am

I AGREE WITH THE GUY WHO SAID
“LESSON 1: DONT BITE THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU”
WAYNE IS A DUMB NIGGA FOR THIS WHOLE THING, HE BLAMES MIXTAPE DJZ FOR LEAKN’ HIS SONGS BUT MIXTAPE DJZ ARE THE ONES RESPONISBLE FOR THIS, THE ONLY THING WE’RE ACCOUTABLE FOR IS PUTTIN THIS NIGGA ON EVERY THING WE RELEASE SHOWIN MAD LOVE TO HIM, HIS MANAGERS/ENGINEERS/PRODUCERS ARE THE ONES RESPONISBLE FOR LEAKN’ HIS SONGS NOT MIXTAPE DJZ!!!! WHO ELSE WOULD LEAK THE SONGS. WAYNE SHOULD REALLY THINK ABOUT WHAT HE SAYS BEFORE HE SAYS. NOW HE FUCKED UP HIS ALBUM SALES WILL BE GREATY AFFECTED BY THIS!

  18. jzone — Sunday June 1, 2008 @ 1:02 pm

Hey DJ Tint - thanks for the love - but I’m a broad not a guy - DJ Zone - first lady of R&B mixtapes - I’ve been quiet for a while but I’ll be back. One Love

  19. DJ King Kracka — Sunday June 1, 2008 @ 3:29 pm

Personally, I fully agree wit Lawrence of the BatonRougePremier…he presented completely valid points. And 2Tone is a hilarious copout, and needs to change his tampon. Lawrence is makin the valid point of, nobody gives a damn bout when the North peeps screw up, cause nobody pays much attention. I’m a DJ, i’m not offended by wha he said, and I think it’s direct and correct, the Mixtape DJs nowadays destroy good tracks because the can’t shut the hell up! It’s ridiculous, if I wanted to here ya’ll say ya damn name, I would buy an album entitled “(whatever DJ) saying my name”…but no cause I don’t give a damn. It is one thing to promote and take credit for work, it’s another to wreck a track to the point of it’s unlistenable. I believe Lawrence hit it right on, and while he was a lil harsh bout Kay Slay, Kay Slay can shove it up his ass too, cause he’s one of the DJs that never shuts up during the whole song. I think the North is slackin right now, especially 50 cent and G-Unit, they’re the biggest JOKES in the industry besides Soulja Boy right now. I hate to say it, bout the South is puttin out an enormous amount of hits, and fresh, talented artists, while I get bored listenin to the “North” rappers. Nas is THE ONLY one I would consider good…and tha’z because he made a good point wit his new single “Be A Nigga Too”. Now, back to Lil Wayne, he was directly addressing the topic at hand, although he did get outta control, but DJs have become a joke themselves, due to the fact that they have just become higher class bootleggers themselves. I think it’s ridiculous. Now I think i’ve properly addressed the issue. But if ya got any questions…feel free to throw ‘em out there. I’ll check back soon.

That Nigga Weezy had every right to sy what he felt like sayin’ about them muthafuckin’ undeground dj’s who tryna emerge by using Young Moola’s dope tracks on their tapes, really how many mixtapes you’ve seen with Weezy joint A MILLI on em this year,”many” yeah thats good but a nigga have not even released his album. FUCK EM WHACK TAPE DJ’S

  21. ME — Monday June 2, 2008 @ 2:23 pm

The worst statement ever made. Mixtapes has helped Waynes career tremendously! Not only Waynes but many many.

Wayne fell of after hot boys. It wasn’t until the Carters and the squad ups when he began to get a grip again.

I respect the mixtapes more than the albums because it’s raw and uncut.

So for him to even say FUCK all mixtape djs is crazy. He can express his disappointment, but not at that.

His head is getting to big.

    PRIDE COMES BEFORE THE DOWNFALL

  22. Blaze Burna — Thursday June 5, 2008 @ 6:21 pm

eveyone forgot about wayne until he came back with sqaud up (ON MIXTAPES) and the dedcication helped him a lot too. mixtapes made him. whether he made money off of them or not it doesnt matter. They were all promotion for him. You have to think about it’s been a while like 3 years maybe since he came out with an album but he was still bein nominated for awards and new material was being heard from him. mixtapes is why. Wayne can barely stick to a topic when he ryhming he jus say punch lines outta no where that would sound ok if it was about something. im not a wayne fan but i kno what he said was fucked up. He too conceited to be title the best or the greatest. all great one’s never titled their selves the best. the title was given to them.

  28. "J.D.L." — Thursday June 26, 2008 @ 9:51 am

this is for all who have commented & Wayne… if you pissed over a song being leaked, know your business. it’s YOUR people responsible for the leak. don’t be mad at the DJs; we gets what the deciding honchos OVER YOU want us to hear & start rotating in the streets, clubs, RADIO, mixtapes, etc.

you just put a nasty taste in the mouths of the main heads that would get behind YOUR music before anybody. no i DON’T play your music anyways cause your NOT the hottest dude out; but others think you are. it’s not a “hater’s” issue cause i can’t hate a person i don’t know; but as a DJ/Producer - there’s better artists out there (independent, signed & rotated) that sound much better & have better LYRICAL content. this further proves that you don’t know the game & you don’t respect it. that’s why you gets no play from this DJ.
